Saudia Academy, a key business unit of the Saudia Group, has commissioned two new state-of-the-art A320neo flight simulators, supplied by industry leader L3Harris Technologies (LHX).
This addition raises the total number of flight simulators of this type operated by the Academy to five.
The recent launch event, held with the esteemed patronage of His Excellency the Director General of Saudia Group, Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, served as a testament to Saudia Academy’s dedication to excellence.
Attended by prominent delegates, including executives from L3Harris and Airbus, the event showcased the Academy’s steadfast determination to elevate training standards in the region.
Meeting Regional Training Needs
Capt. Ismael S. Alkoshy, CEO of Saudia Academy, emphasized the significance of the new A320neo simulators, highlighting their role in propelling the Academy to the forefront of aviation training technology.
“This strategic expansion reflects our commitment to meeting the dynamic needs of the regional market,” stated Capt. Alkoshy, underlining the Academy’s proactive stance in adapting to the evolving aviation landscape.
Alan Crawford, President of L3Harris Commercial Aviation Solutions, echoed sentiments of pride in the collaborative endeavor between L3Harris and Saudia Academy.
“The provision of two cutting-edge A320neo simulators underscores our commitment to Saudia Academy’s growth plans,” remarked Crawford, emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between the two industry leaders.
Regional Training Facilities
Saudia Academy currently operates four facilities in Jeddah; Flight Training, Safety Training, In-Flight Service Training, and Technical Training which is set to relocate to the MRO Village under Saudia Technic.
With the four current operational facilities in Jeddah catering to various facets of aviation training, Saudia Academy is poised for further expansion.
Plans to establish a new flight training facility in Riyadh signify a strategic move aimed at bolstering the Academy’s presence and further extending its influence within the aviation domain.
The facility will cater to aviation and non-aviation needs both regionally and internationally.
