Royal Jordanian, the flag carrier airline of Jordan, and Lufthansa Technik have expanded their cooperation in the field of Base Maintenance. Recently, two of the airline’s Airbus A320s underwent a maintenance C-check at Lufthansa Technik Budapest.
Royal Jordanian has already been partnering with Lufthansa Technik in the field of Total Component Support (TCS) for a decade.
A notable development in this collaboration is the recent base maintenance activities conducted by Lufthansa Technik’s Hungarian subsidiary for Royal Jordanian. This marks the first time that the Budapest operation has undertaken such tasks for the airline.
“Lufthansa Technik has been a reliable partner for us with its component services for years,” says Samer Majali, CEO of Royal Jordanian.
“With the heavy checks on our airline’s Airbus A320s being carried out by Lufthansa Technik we are confident that our trusting partnership will continue to grow even stronger.”

Network Expansion Plan
The recent maintenance activity further supports the Royal Jordanian 5-year expansion plan, which saw the carrier add a new Amman-Dusseldorf route with its A320 fleet earlier last month.
Speaking at the time of the new European route addition, Karim Makhlouf, the Chief Commercial Officer ventured:
“Helping promote and drive tourism to the kingdom is a key focus of our new corporate strategy—as is our emphasis on further developing Amman as the primary gateway to the Levant, by offering improved connectivity to our broader network.”
“This newest route is yet another step in line with RJ’s ambitious five-year growth plan, which includes increasing our current fleet of 24 aircraft to more than 40 aircraft in the coming three to five years,” he explained.
