“NEET-UG merit list will be revised according to observations made by Supreme Court,” he said.
Further, Dharmendra Pradhan hailed the apex court’s order, calling it ‘Satyamev Jayate’, truth prevailed and said that zero tolerance of any kind of breach is the government’s priority.
“For us, zero tolerance of any kind of breach is our priority when it comes to exams for students – be it for higher education or jobs. So, Modi Government has brought into effect a strict law like The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act. Presenting our side before the Supreme Court, we have promised that our government is committed to having a transparent, tamper-free and zero-error examination system,” he said.
Pradhan added: “Taking this commitment forward, we announced a high-level committee for a complete revamp of NTA. That committee is working with dedication. The committee has collected expert opinions and studied various models. They will submit a report soon.”He assured the youth and students of the country that the Centre is committed to making NTA error-free. “In this process, all those involved in these irregularities will not be spared. Strict legal action will be taken. CBI is doing its job,” he added.
NEET-UG ‘scam’: What was SC’s order?
The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered that there will be no retest of NEET-UG. The bench of CJI DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra noted that there is no material to show the allegations results of the NEET-UG are vitiated entirely and that there was a systemic breach in its sanctity.
The apex court said realised that directing a fresh NEET-UG for the present year would be replete with serious consequences which will be for over 24 lakh students who appeared in this exam.
The SC added that data on record does not indicate systemic leak of question paper of NEET-UG 24.
