Google Pixel Fold 2 Mega Leak
In recent years, the mobile phone market has seen a transformation with the emergence of foldable display phones. While the overall mobile phone market has experienced a decline, the segment for foldable display phones has shown a consistent upward trend. This trend has attracted both Chinese and global mainstream mobile phone manufacturers, leading to fierce competition in the market.
In the Chinese market, various manufacturers have entered the foldable display phone market, contributing to its growth. However, in the global market, Samsung has dominated with its innovative foldable devices. Despite this, Google recently made its foray into the foldable display phone market with the release of the Pixel Fold.
Although Google’s Pixel Fold entered the market with anticipation, it faced challenges due to its design, configuration, and pricing. The first-generation Pixel Fold lacked standout features and lagged behind competitors, particularly Samsung. However, recent leaks and rumors about the Pixel Fold 2 suggest significant changes and upgrades.
According to high-definition CAD renders provided by OnLeaks, the Pixel Fold 2 boasts a 7.9-inch internal screen and dimensions of 155.2 × 150.2 × 5.27mm when unfolded. This configuration represents a slight departure from its predecessor, featuring a more squared-off design and an enlarged screen.

At the top of the device, an antenna band accompanies an auxiliary speaker grill, while the right side houses the power and volume buttons. Meanwhile, the bottom section hosts a USB-C port, speaker grill, microphone, and SIM card slot. Notably, the internal screen of the phone includes a camera positioned in the top right corner, rumored to utilize an under-screen camera solution with a novel sensor.
When folded, the Pixel Fold 2 sports a 6.4-inch external screen and measures 155.2 × 77.1 × 10.54mm, representing a slight reduction in thickness compared to its predecessor’s 12.1mm profile.
The back of the Pixel Fold 2 showcases a new camera module design, departing from the classic design of previous Pixel devices. The camera setup includes a raised rounded rectangle design with multiple sensors, emphasizing a modern and recognizable aesthetic.
Rumors suggest that the Pixel Fold 2 will feature the next-generation Tensor G4 chip, offering improved performance with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and at least 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. This upgrade is expected to enhance the device’s overall performance and user experience.
However, it’s important to note that the Pixel Fold 2 is still in the early stages of Engineering Verification Testing (EVT), with potential changes before mass production. The release timeline may be delayed, possibly debuting in the second half of the year.
The introduction of foldable display phones represents a significant shift in mobile technology, offering users innovative features and enhanced usability. While challenges remain, manufacturers like Google are continuously evolving their offerings to meet consumer demands and stay competitive in the market. With promising upgrades and advancements on the horizon, the future of foldable display phones looks promising, shaping the next era of mobile innovation.
