4.1 Million Passengers Expected
During the peak Christmas and New Year period, the airline expects to transport 4.1 million passengers, representing a substantial increase from previous years.
December 27 marks the busiest travel day, with 1,662 flights carrying up to 300,000 travelers, demonstrating the airline’s robust operational capabilities during peak periods.
Adding a festive touch to the passenger list, holiday namesakes are taking to the skies – including 132 passengers named Santa, 28 Rudolphs, and 17 travelers going by Mr. or Mrs. Claus. This whimsical detail highlights the joyful spirit of seasonal travel and the diverse mix of passengers choosing easyJet for their holiday journeys.
British travelers make up a significant portion of holiday flights, with 2.3 million passengers departing from UK airports. These travelers are heading off to reunite with loved ones, escape to sunny destinations, or celebrate New Year’s Eve in Europe’s celebrated cities. The variety of destinations reflects the diverse holiday preferences of British travelers during the winter season.

Paris tops the destination list this season, attracting visitors with its renowned Christmas markets and festive atmosphere.
Meanwhile, Geneva serves as the gateway to Alpine ski resorts, drawing winter sports enthusiasts eager to hit the slopes at the start of the ski season. For sun-seekers, Tenerife remains the most popular warm-weather destination, offering a perfect escape from winter’s chill.
The airline has significantly expanded its North African routes, now offering the UK’s most comprehensive flight network to Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco combined.
Services now connect 10 UK airports to eight leisure destinations across these countries, including new winter routes to Luxor and Djerba island in Tunisia. This expansion demonstrates easyJet’s commitment to providing diverse travel options for both cultural exploration and winter sun seekers.
For those seeking winter magic, easyJet has maximized its Lapland flights from the UK. Services to Santa’s homeland now operate up to 22 times weekly from six cities – London Gatwick, London Luton, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, and newly added Birmingham.
These routes cater to families and travelers seeking authentic Arctic experiences and festive adventures.
The airline has also enhanced its Norwegian connections, introducing new routes to Tromsø from Gatwick, Manchester, and Bristol, plus Manchester-Oslo flights.
