Bihar Police Constable Selection process and eligibility
The recruitment process includes a written exam followed by a physical test. The written exam is qualifying, with candidates required to score at least 30% to proceed to the physical test. The final merit list will be based solely on physical test scores. There will be no interview.
Applicants must have completed the 12th grade. The age limit for the general category is 18-25 years. For Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes, the age limit is 18-27 years for males and 18-28 years for females. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates have an age limit of 18-30 years. Home Guards trained and enrolled in Bihar receive a five-year age relaxation.

The 19,838 vacancies are allocated across different categories:

Bihar Police Constable: Exam and physical test details
The written exam consists of 100 questions covering Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, General Knowledge, and Current Affairs, based on the 10th-grade syllabus. Candidates have two hours to complete the exam, with each question carrying one mark.
Physical standards vary by category. The minimum height requirement ranges from 160 cm to 165 cm for men and is 155 cm for women. Chest measurements apply to men, with category-specific requirements. Women applicants must weigh at least 48 kg.
Bihar Police Constable physical test:
- One-mile run for men (six-minute limit) and one-kilometer run for women (five-minute limit)
- Shot put throw (16 pounds for men, 12 pounds for women)
- High jump

Bihar Police Constable: Application fees
The application fee is Rs 675 for general category applicants, including those from outside Bihar. Bihar residents from SC/ST categories, all women, and transgender applicants need to pay Rs 180. Payment can be made online.
