The shift is driven by the rise of new technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a greater emphasis on sustainability. Among 5,000 surveyed global business leaders, 82 per cent in India observe a rapid acceleration in workplace transformation, with a rising demand for roles, skills, and innovative technologies reshaping job requirements.
With Generative AI at the forefront, 70 per cent of global business leaders rank AI adoption among their top priorities for 2025. LinkedIn India’s Talent Solutions Head, Ruchee Anand, underscored this shift, stating, “As we look to 2025, businesses are increasingly prioritising AI adoption, alongside meaningful investments in upskilling and reskilling their people. Embracing AI is not just about keeping pace; it’s about empowering teams, fostering innovation, and creating resilient workforces ready to thrive.”
In India, HR professionals are also feeling the shift; nearly 69 per cent report that workplace expectations are higher than ever. Many, around six in 10, believe experience alone is no longer enough to remain competitive, with over half stating that career progression now hinges on proficiency in AI.
To support this transition, LinkedIn announced the expansion of its LinkedIn Learning library to include more than 1,000 AI courses and introduced new AI-driven tools, including its first AI agent, Hiring Assistant, and an AI-powered coaching feature aimed at streamlining the hiring process and equipping employees with the skills needed in a digitally advanced work environment.
