Yesterday afternoon, an easyJet flight between Glasgow and Las Palmas made an emergency landing in London Gatwick.
The airline has spoken out about the incident at hand, as we will get into in this piece.

U23111 – Glasgow to Las Palmas: London Diversion…
easyJet flight U23111 is a routine scheduled flight between Glasgow and Las Palmas.
The aircraft involved in the emergency landing at London Gatwick is registered as G-EZRT.
As per data from Planespotters.net, G-EZRT is a 5.9 year old Airbus A320ceo that was delivered to the airline in May 2018.
Of the A320ceo variant, easyJet UK has 78 of them in the fleet, of which all but eight are in active service.
Furthermore, average fleet age for the variant at the airline stands at 11.3 years.
easyJet flight U23111 departed Glasgow at 1221 local time on March 29 and initially proceeded south to Las Palmas.
Upon reaching the West of France, the aircraft made a u-turn and headed east to London Gatwick.
Furthermore, before it’s arrival into the diversion field, the aircraft entered a hold to control the issue onboard.
No emergency squawk was utilized for this during the incident.

Met By Emergency Services…
As per STV in Scotland, easyJet issued a statement on the incident in London Gatwick saying the following:
“We can confirm that flight EZY3111 from Glasgow to Grand Canaria on 29 March diverted to Gatwick due to a technical issue.
“The aircraft landed safely in Gatwick and was met by emergency services as a routine and precautionary measure only.
“We did all possible to minimise the impact for our passengers and arranged for a replacement aircraft for them to continue their journey and they were provided with a complimentary service onboard.
“The safety of our customers and crew is easyJet’s highest priority and we would like to apologise to customers for the delay and inconvenience caused.”
G-EZRT has been brought back into commercial service following the incident and is operationally sound.
